I am a visual artist, a landscape painter in particular, and I come here to soak up the beauty and serenity of the National Seashore and the Atlantic. I look for vacationers who prefer the same. If you prefer to party on your vacation, that's fine, but this is not the place you want to stay.
If you are new to Provincetown and wondering what there is to do here, may I suggest: bike, kayak, sail, learn from experts in the National Seashore Park about nature, geology, history. Rent a motor boat for touring around the Cape, or sign up for a fishing trip. Whale watches that leave from the Provincetown are run by ocean scientists who are a wealth of information and, in my experience, they always find lots of whales.
Excellent restaurants, two movie theatres that include independent films as well as the most popular films. Live theater every night, musical and comedic entertainment. The light at the tip of Cape Cod and the drama of the ocean and giant dunes has always drawn artists from around the world, so the two main streets of the town are chock full of galleries. Art shows open on Saturday evening, with wine and finger food.
Ptown is the perfect place to scoot around by bike. If you love the view from a a bike but don't want to pedal, just text or flag down a Pedi-Cab operator -- they are everywhere in seashore.
The main village of Ptown is a short walk downhill on Commercial Street through Ptown's charming West End.
The condo is surrounded by The Cape Cod National Seashore Park on three sides. From our front deck, you look out over Hatches Harbor to the Atlantic Ocean. To visit the popular Herring Cove Beach in the seashore Park, just take the sandy path over the sand bars out to the ocean. Or, if you look to the left from our deck (southeast) and you will see the jetty out to Long Point, which is the outermost tip of the Cape. Where the jetty begins, there is an historic inn -- Provincetown Inn. The owners of the inn welcome all to use their lovely pool for free. Also, food and cocktails are served all day at the pool side grill.
Average weekly in-season rate is $3200 per week -- less in June, more July and August, less in September and Autumn.
