Caretaker wanted for a small rental cottage in Falmouth Massachusetts. Responsibilities include seasonal work, including installing air conditioners and removing them from windows, putting up Christmas lights and taking them down, power washing decks and patio furniture, small maintenance jobs inside for appliances if needed, small handyman type repair jobs, outdoor shower and spigot turn on turn off, seasonal decorations putting up and taking down, indoor gas fireplace turn on turn off, possibly light landscaping work (we have a full time landscaper for the mowing and leaf blowing etc). Not a complete list of job responsibilities and tasks, but the general idea.
Job will have a set schedule throughout the month and throughout the four seasons of the year. Mostly based on the occupancy of the rental cottage. There may be occasional times that we need someone to go over to the cottage to check on something or fix something for a tenant usually as simple as flipping a switch, turning off or turning on the fireplace, etc.
The biggest responsibility is generally taking note of the state of the property 365 days a year.
We are looking for someone who can provide us with boots on the ground, eyes on the property, as we have guest check-in and check out of our home. There’s often things that get damaged issues inside or outside of the house that need work or that need to be brought to our attention.
We already have a cleaning company to do turnover service for us so that is not needed and would not be included in the job description. The cleaning company will be mainly responsible for reporting any breaking of furniture or objects inside of the house, such as broken lamps, chairs, or side tables, spills on the rug, etc.
Must be local to the general Falmouth area. Trustworthy reliable. This job will be all year round. We will have a trial period the beginning to see how things go. if everything works out well, we will move to higher full-time.
