Hello there,

I am Shay Stephens. I currently live in Hyannis.
I am in the progress looking with HAC association and their services.
I have been granted the voucher program, which allows the association to help fund
me by paying my housing cost. This is beneficial to me now because I have been dealing with Ulcerative
Colitis and bilateral severe arthritis for the past five years and have been off and on jobs dealing with my health
as well as the necessity for housing.

I don't no have a much official housing history. I was only officially leased once and I had to forfeit living there because I was experiencing extreme health complications that kept me from working. I do have references from family members and friends that graciously let me live with them. With me having a drive for independence and building my own, I decided last year to go back to the shelter in Hyannis, which is now St. Jospehs's Shelter, to receive the necessary assistance in setting up myself for independent living, at this stage in my adulthood.
Their program has been very helpful with both my health and housing. A little bit more about myself: I am a musician as well and Ill be doing that for income as well as working.

Voucher Stipulations:

1 studio or 1 bedroom apartment, non co-living.
Covers up to ~1200$
I pay 30% of my income.

I have a case worker from HAC that has to sign off and check everything. It is good to contact her as well:
