DK2 Wood chipper with 6.5 HP Kohler engine.
if you go to detailk2 dot com, and lookup "DK2 by Marlon OPC513 3-Inch Chipper Shredder | 6.5HP Kohler SH270 Engine with Towable Design & Chip Bag"...this is basically the same model, except it didn't come with a chip bag.
TLDR: Engine runs fine but the hopper needs some minor metal fab to be usable.
The Long Story: The chipper threw its blade, which blew the hinge pins off of the part of the hinged hopper door assembly. I ordered a brand new blade and a brand new hinged hopper door assembly. I installed the new blade. After attaching the new hinged hopper door assembly, I discovered the new hopper door assembly they sent doesn't line up exactly with the feeder chute. I tried to get further satisfaction from the company who initially said yes, but then they ghosted me. So, either modify slightly where the hopper meets the chute, or weld new hinge pins on the old one. Also, The round cutout where the blade meets up needs a little persuasion so the blade can rotate freely, because when it threw the blade, the blade apparently caught the edge of the round cutout and pulled it in a little bit. So, basically, If you can beat metal for a few minutes, and either drill a few holes or weld in new hinge pins, you're good to go.
Major brand engines alone of the same HP are $300 plus.
Harbor Freight Chondas are about $175
The value of the chipper as it sits is mostly with the engine, but totally usable with metal fab. I would fix it but I don't have the time, equipment, or skills to do so.
Still with me? Not very old, and has only about 20-30 hrs on it. $888 new at D2K dot com, Lowes, or Home Depot.
$200 obo. CASH
