Custom made box spring and mattress for converting a 3/4 antique bed to a standard double bed. The box spring which measures 71"x48"x8" and is sized to drop down between the side rails and the mattress which measures 75"x53"x7" is wider than the box spring and made to overlap the side rails. The foot of the mattress is also notched to fit around the bed posts as can be seen in the picture. It is an elegant way to preserve the antiquity of the bed itself while enjoy the relative comfort of a standard double bed. Both the box spring and the mattress are comfortable, clean and like new having had very little use. The reason it is free is we are downsizing and need to find a new home for it. The bed which was a tester or pencil post bed with a canopy has already been sold.
