The Community School at Cape Cod Tech is seeking a qualified Manicure Licensing Instructor to teach evening Manicure Licensing classes during the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 sessions. Each class consists of 108 instructional hours and prepares adult students for entry into the manicuring profession and for the Massachusetts licensure process.
The instructor will provide classroom instruction, demonstrations, supervised hands-on practice, student evaluation, and professional guidance aligned with Massachusetts Board of Registration of Cosmetology and Barbering requirements for manicuring education. Classes are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:30 - 9:30.
Responsibilities
The Manicure Licensing Instructor will:
Teach the full 108-hour evening Manicure Licensing course in accordance with approved program standards and Massachusetts Board requirements.
Provide instruction in required manicuring content areas, including safety and sanitation, artificial nail techniques, first aid, basic manicuring with hand and arm massage, professional ethics, salon management, state laws, hygiene, anatomy, and exam preparation.
Demonstrate proper manicuring procedures, professional techniques, infection-control practices, client safety, and salon readiness.
Supervise students during practical skill development and ensure safe, professional use of tools, products, equipment, and classroom/lab space.
Maintain accurate attendance, progress, and performance records as required by the program.
Support students in preparing for the Massachusetts manicuring licensure process.
Communicate regularly with Community School administration regarding student progress, supplies, scheduling, and program needs.
Maintain a professional, supportive learning environment for adult learners.
Applicants must meet the requirements of the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Cosmetology and Barbering for manicuring instruction. Candidates should have:
Current Massachusetts Board of Registration of Cosmetology and Barbering Manicuring Instructor license
Current Massachusetts manicurist license
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of three years of practical experience as a Massachusetts licensed manicurist,
Demonstrated knowledge of Massachusetts manicuring laws, professional standards, safety, sanitation, and infection-control practices.
Ability to teach adult learners in an evening vocational training setting.
Strong communication, organization, classroom management, and student support skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
Experience preparing students or apprentices for licensure exams.
Current salon, spa, or nail-industry experience.
Familiarity with maintaining student records, attendance documentation, and competency-based skill assessment.
Ability to help students understand workplace readiness, client communication, professionalism, and salon operations.
At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
High School/Trade School degree preferred.
