Selling my 1975 SeaCraft Seafari. I’ve owned the boat since 2016, and the legendary Potter-built hull handles the heavy chop in Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound exceptionally well. I am only selling because I recently purchased a larger vessel for more space. The boat is not in showroom shape, but it has been consistently used and professionally maintained by Christian at Cape Cod Mobile Marine. I have a binder with invoices for nearly all work performed.
Please Note (Project Update): The boat was fully commissioned for the season. However, several days later, I noticed what appears to be engine oil dripping out around the outdrive onto the driveway. Because I have already bought my next boat, I do not have the time to diagnose or fix this leak. I have heavily dropped the price to $6,900 to reflect this issue and let someone else take on the project. The trailer is not included in the $6,900 price, but it is available separately (see below).
Structural & Mechanical Upgrades:Engine: Powered by a 3.0L Mercruiser. While the exact hours and year are unknown, the previous owner stated it was a 2007. It has been a reliable, professionally maintained engine.
Transom & Drive: The transom was completely rebuilt using composite Coosa board by Richardson Marine (no rot). A brand-new Mercruiser Alpha 1 outdrive and transom assembly were installed during the 2021-2022 offseason.
Fuel System: New aluminum fuel tank and fuel lines installed in 2020.
Hardware: Custom-installed anchor roller. The original scuppers were filled and new self-bailing scuppers were installed for added peace of mind.
Trim & Handling: New Lenco trim tabs and a replacement trim pump for the Alpha 1 outdrive were installed to dial in the ride.
Electrical, Helm & Interior: Controls & Navigation: Features a new throttle and throttle cable for smooth operation, along with new navigation lights.
Seating: Two replacement pedestal chairs with cushions.
Batteries & Pumps: Upgraded to a multiple battery setup with newer batteries and a selector switch. Features multiple bilge pumps, including a new Sahara 500 GPH pump wired for auto/manual operation.
Instrumentation: Updated dash with new analog gauges installed.Note: The boat does not include marine electronics, providing a clean slate for you to install your preferred GPS/fishfinder package.
Trailer Option ($4,250):
The trailer is not included in the $6,900 boat price, but is available for an additional $4,250. It is a 2023 trailer package purchased from Campbell's Boat Works (Model TR-22-3600D). It comes equipped with a spare tire and carrier. The trailer will not be sold separately until the boat sells.
The SeaCraft Legacy: For those unfamiliar, the 1975 "Potter Built" SeaCrafts are widely considered some of the finest small offshore hulls ever produced. This boat features Carl Moesly’s famous Variable Deadrise Hull (VDR). The deep-v design uses three different step panels on each side of the keel, allowing the boat to provide a soft entry in rough water while maintaining incredible stability and efficiency at lower speeds. These hulls are sought after for their overbuilt construction and a ride quality that typically requires a much larger vessel to achieve.
