Purchased direct from Werner Advanced Bicycle Designs in 1997, when I had suffered a back injury and could not ride upright comfortably. I had a short 10 mile commute to work and back and became my regular commuter, until long after my back had recovered.
Over the years I modified the steering to underseat, installed an internal 8-speed rear hub, changed out the original rigid front fork with a custom built Amp parallelogram suspension fork and replaced the rigid rear seat stays with coil over oil units. The frame was built to accommodate up to 6’-2” and has a telescoping bottom bracket with a few inches of adjustment.
Most recumbent riders will end up preferring clip in pedals of some sort, but it would be prudent to use a platform or BMX pedal until you feel comfortable with the shifting and braking. I still have the above seat steering handlebar and stem hardware which is included if might like to try that.
One of my favorite features are the drum brakes, both front and back; reliable and consistent rain or shine. Also, the driveline up front is a three ring touring set, with granny, which gives a very wide range of 24 gears.
