Early Empire period chest for sale.
This chest is early in the period circa. 1810.
This chest is more than 200 years old.
The chest looks wonderful with book matched Mahogany veneered drawer fronts, original hardware, single board sides and bottom. Hand chafed drawer bottoms and all the little nuances you look for in genuine early pieces and some early professional repairs proving it`s value to previous owner(s).
This chest has looks and functionality with those big spacious drawers.
It is clean inside and out and ready to go into service for another 200 years.
The lower body of the chest is 44" wide, 40" tall, 22" deep.
The glove-box drawers that nest on top of the chest are 36" wide.
The removable 2 drawer glove-box and back-splash add 12" to the height,
bringing the overall height of the chest to 52"tall x 44"wide x 22"depth. Minimal veneer loss as to be expected.
