Llewellins & James what's a Brewers engineers and architects practice established in 1735, whose works were located in Bedminster, Bristol. there was a major fire at their Bedminster works during the 1870s, after which William Maberly Llewellyn left the company to set up his own business, would still exist as Llewellins Machine Co. Ltd of Bristol; however, there was never any business connection with the Brewers engineering firm who were also known as Bell founder's. By the end of the 1880s than most prolific. Llewellins & James had a substantial office that Castlegreen in the center of Bristol just across the river from the brewery of George's and Co. In 1888 they produced a beautifully illustrated catalogue, advertising their buildings and plant, which ran to well over a 230 pages is an included designs for breweries, on both the gravitation and plumbing systems and for Maltings. They increased the size of the works and staff in mid 1891 due to increasing pressure of architectural business.

Most of the works were carried out at breweries in Wales and the south of England although they did venture into Yorkshire, and their buildings tended to be playing and relatively small scale. They generally seem to be concentrated on the Brewers engineering aspect of the firm rather than the architectural side and little was reported of their activities in the trade press after 1890. Dwellings and James eventually went into liquidation in the 1970s.
