Kevin Doyle (Chatham, MA ) Impressionism River Painting (West Yarmouth)
condition: like new
size / dimensions: 17.5" x 25.5"
Vintage original early? oil painting from American Artist Kevin Doyle. No date but c1960s/70s if I had to guess for it is hard to tell. The painting appears to be modern and done sometime between 1960 and 1980 however it looks to have been painted in an antique canvas and stretcher. Medium is oil on canvas done in an Impressionist style; canvas affixed to early wooden stretcher with nails. Stretcher, nails and canvas appear much older than the painting and look to date from the 1920s or earlier. The artist himself was not born until 1942. Depicts a well done forest landscape scene complete with a flowing river and an array of beautifully colored foliage. Great brush strokes, use of color and thick paint. Signed with the distinct signature of Kevin Doyle in the bottom left corner that reads 'Doyle'. Reverse side of canvas has further info marked in charcoal on it which reads 'C.O.A. K.Doyle Chatham'.
