If the adult dog bit you, you can call the police or dog warden on them. They will then hopefully investigate the rest of the household situation in there, when you tell them at the time of your call the other things you posted here.

At least, they should ask them to provide proof of Vet care, shots & license for the dog & pup. They will be fined if they don't have a license for the dog & pup. The basement should show signs of the kitten being kept down there day/night.

This is a touchy situation, but one which someone needs to intervene for the sake of the helpless, innocent pets that they have.

Another reason why people shouldn't just give their pets to just anyone who says they'll take them & seem nice. Is this what you want for your 'free' pet to go to, b/c you didn't check more carefully? OR worse!?

With all the missing cats everywhere now, being confused w/the snow, & cold, people should give the hood of their cars a good HARD SLAP w/their closed fist before getting in to start it up. Many cats find warmth by the engines of cars that stay warm for a while after you've gone inside. They will stay there for the night to be out of the elements & try to stay warmer.

Many will not jump down just by you getting in the car shutting the door, or it will happen too quick when you just get in & start it up...99% of the time, killing them or severely injuring them w/the fan/belt.

So, try to get in the habit this Winter, of BANGING HARD ON YOUR CAR HOOD BEFORE GETTING IN TO START IT UP.

You could save a life or 2. Not to mention the mess you'll have to clean up around your engine if you do 'catch' a cat w/the fan belt. I've seen it. Not pretty, and very, very sad.

If the dog wont eat the capsules ... wrap them one at a time in cream cheese, they tend to swallow this right down, it can also be sprinkled and mixed into moist food.

Please, take responsibility and do not pass this poor dog and his problem on to someone else. You can always seek more knowledge trhough the experts. I have had dogs all my life; one in particular was very troubled. Make an appointment with an animal behaviorist ASAP. I have used two and both come highly recommended. Dr. Nicholas Dodman, BVMS associated with Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in North Grafton, Ma. is excellent. You will come in for an initial evaluation with your dog. It is expensive but isn't your dog worth it ? Use a credit care or apply for care credit if money is of concern. To make and appt. call #508-887-4640. Your dog will be evaluated and put on a behavioral program and even possibly some medication. Another excellent animal behaviorist is Dr. Amy Marder with the Animal Rescue League in Boston, Ma. I need to find a home for my one year old Whippet. She is a sweet, incredibly gentle dog, but I have never met an animal so afraid in my life. I got here off Petfinder last July and was told that she spent a majority of her first year in the shelter except for one unsuccessful placement where Animal Control actually took her back for reasons unspecified. (I am assuming abuse.) When we first got her she was absolutely terrified of every movement, sound and flicker of light. I thought that she would have warmed up over the last six months, but she hasn't in the slightest. I have no idea what to do with her. I've had dogs all my life and my limited knowledge has been spent. She is so scared she doesn't respond to food, play or typical training.

The only time she is free is on walks and when she is off leash. We found this out the hard way when she escaped out the door while I was talking to a friend and I had to ride my bike after her to retrieve her. Now, she walks with my wife everyday in the park and loves it. Aside from that she refuses to be around people. I have no idea how to socialize a dog that is affected like this. As a result, I am looking for a home that has more expertise. I will not re-home her as a typical family dog and only to someone that can verify they would like to rehabilitate her. Daisy is very, very sweet and this is what she deserves. If interested please contact me and we can talk.

Mike is a 1 year old fixed male American Bulldog. i am unsure weather he is a Pitbull Dalmation mix or an American Bulldog. He has an awesome temperment. I have personally tested his temperment by taking his food, taking his toys, and rough housing with him and he has never shown any signs of aggression. He is coming from a home with a 2 year old and a cat and he did fine with both. If you have a young baby/Toddler, one thing to think about is his energy level. He can get really excited and sometime be a little clumsy around kids, not on purpose but he is still just a puppy. I have found if you take him out for a long run/walk or play catch with him he is a very calm dog and he loves to cuddle and lay with you. The only real major flaw with this dog is he needs some work with other dogs. If you can work with him on this im sure you could fix this. He is a very smart dog, he knows all the basic comands and he is very easily trainable. He loves car rides and he would love to go everywhere with you. Please go down to the MSPCA and give mike a visit. He will make a GREAT pet and best friend. If my situation were different, I never would have brought him down there. he didnt do anything to deserve the pound, i just am in a really hard situation right now and it broke my heart to have to pick him up and put him in the kennel. We have been babysitting a 1.5 year old Tri-colored full blooded Beagle for 6 months. The previous owner hoped to be able to be in a position to take her back by now, but will not be able to take care of her and we are looking for a new home for her due to a change in circumstances. I know she will needs shots soon and I don't believe she is spade. She was rescued from the shelter and was apparently abused. She is very sweet, loving and docile, but nervous. She is good with our other little dog and great with our son. She is crate trained and potty trained. She does best in a large fenced in yard and we moved and no longer have a fenced in yard for her to run around in. She needs someone who be her constant companion. She gets nervous when left alone for long periods of time. We hate to find her a new home, but due to circumstances we just don't have the time to spend with her.

Rookie is a handsome American Staffordshire terrier mix. He was found as a stray and the vet estimates him to be approximately 18 months old. Rookie is a lean and athletic 46 pounds and, though he is full grown, may fill out a bit more as he ages.

Rookie is an absolute sweetheart who loves to cuddle. He is a very active dog and would make a great running or hiking companion. Rookie also loves to meet new people and dogs and gets very excited when making new friends. His foster mom is able to bring him to work with her where he gets lots of exposure to new stimuli. Rookie is always appropriate when meeting new dogs, albeit very excited, and he loves all the extra human attention as well. Rookie does live in a home with a cat and they get along very well, but he would really love to have another dog to romp around with!

Rookie loves to please and he is extremely food and toy-motivated. He is very smart and is responding well to positive reinforcement training. Rookie LOVES to play and would make an excellent companion for another active dog. He knows some basic obedience (sit, stay, paw) and is crate and house-trained. He is working on his leash manners and learning his limits in his foster home.

Rookie would do best in an active home with someone who can commit to regular exercise and training. Rookie is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations. He has tested negative for both heartworm and Lyme disease.

This sweetheart is Maize. She is a wonderful 7 month old lab/staffie mix who has the most amazing temperment. She is super sweet and happy, typical of a pup. I know she will just thrive in the right home, and blossom in front of your eyes. Maize loves men, women and children. She is good with both dogs AND cats. She weighs in at 43 pounds and will probably mature near 60 pounds.

She is black with beautiful white tuxedo-like markings on her...even on her tippy toes. Being a puppy, she is the perfect age to learn basic obedience and has the personality that just wants to please you. She has already learned the command Sit, and is working on Stay. She knows to sit before she is given her meals. She is making progress on her walking and learning not to pull. This will continue to take practice and consistency, but she is showing great improvement already. Maize LOVES to play with her toys, and especially her ball...although she hasn't yet learned to bring it back to you. Maize is housebroken and crate trained. She sleeps through the night on her dog bed in her current foster home.

Maize did have cherry eyes when we rescued her. We immediately set up an appointment to get her the minor surgery she needed, and I'm thrilled to report that Maize's Cherry Eyes are now corrected and her stitches will be removed in just a few days. When looking at her pictures, please understand that her eyes are still swollen from the surgery, and the redness and puffiness will go away as they continue to heal. The hospital staff have just fallen in love with her. She has truly a sweet soul, and touches everyone she meets.

Meet Blue, a super handsome young male blue nose pit bull. This friendly playful boy is approximately 1-2 years old. Someone cropped his ears very close in the effort to make him look intimidating...well this sweetie is anything but. He is a total loving mush. Blue came from a neglectful home and as a result is very thin with his ribs & hips showing. But he hit the jackpot when he crossed paths with his new foster parents.

Blue is now being cared for and loved in their home outside of Boston, MA while he is waiting for a new family. They are giving him regular nutritious meals so he is already gaining some much needed weight. He is 100% housebroken as well as crate trained. He has learned to alert at the door when he needs to got out to do his business. Blue pulls hard on a leash, but with some regular practice and a basic obedience class, he is so eager to please that he would learn leash manners quickly. Blue enjoys going for car rides, and would make a great companion for running errands.

He loves people and other dogs (especially the 8 month old male chocolate lab that lives upstairs from his foster home.) He is extremely gentle when taking items from your hand � especially his favorite Milk Bones. Blue likes to the game of tug of war and is still puppy-ish in his play. So far he has had no exposure to children or cats, so a home with older children would be best. His previous owner spoke Spanish, so he is just learning English commands, but has learned "sit" with a hand gesture.

No Vaccinations or Spay/Neutering Required??? OMG! Have you any idea what all these dogs will be exposing each other to? PARVO just for one! PARVO KILLS! That's why we have our dogs vaccinated against it to protect them from it. It can last up to 5 mos. in the ground, so any other dog that is not in your group & many not be UTD w/shots is also in danger of being exposed by a dog that may have it in the group! How irresponsible can someone be???

Sweet & loving approx. 9 month old female Pit Bull is looking for a forever home. She is great with kids and other dogs. We have temporarily taken her in to prevent her from being dropped off at the MSPCA by her original owner. She is not spayed and I was unable to get a copy of her shot records from the original owner, so this should be done with her new owner. She is a sweet dog and shows no signs of aggression. We have 2 young children that she has been great with. I would keep her myself but one of my 2 dogs, both Pit Bulls, a female, doesn't care for her much and we have had to keep them seperated, not at her fault as she does very well with my male dog. My female seems to be the aggressor in this situation. She will come with a a collar, leash and large dog crate, alothough she seems to be slightly afraid of the crate as I have the feeling she had been left in there all too often at her former home. She knows the sit command well and gives paw and has been getting much better with the "down" & "stay" commands. The only issues that I have been able to see thus far would be that she does "beg" when she sees human food and will occasionally have an accident in the house, we have been working with her from on these but it will take some time as im sure moving around has been tough on her. This dog really does deserve a second chance at having a happy home, if you think this is something that you may be able to provide then please contact me to arrange a meet to see if you will be a good match. I do prefer an experienced Pit Bull owner but am willing to help the right home/family adjust to owning a Pit Bull. We just want to ensure that she will be going to a happy and healthy home where she will be loved and cared for. I will require a vet reference and would ask that you please have her utd on shots & spayed. - NO BREEDERS PLEASE
