I should be eligible, as I am self-employed and due to this situation, have been unemployed for the last six months, but self-employed people are figured with their last recorded tax return.
I am using my 2008 tax return info, which should deem me eligible, as I was disabled 6 months of that year also, but according to their worksheet, I am over the median income limit.
My question is, does anybody know if there is a different way to figure this so it's current, or fair, or pro-rated somehow??? Does the gov't have people who figure these things on an individual basis????
ANYBODY WHO CAN GIVE ME ANY KIND OF INFO ON HOW THIS WORKS WOULD BE APPRECIATED...(Or if you know a plumber who can do about 2k of work and wait a couple months to get paid would work also)....

November 27, 2009 SANDWICH – A Sandwich man is now listed in fair condition after being injured in an early morning home explosion yesterday, a hospital spokeswoman said this morning.

Joseph Kuzava, 50, had been listed in serious condition at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston after yesterday's explosion and fire at 8 Chaucer St.

An Explosion linked to the Sandwich blaze A gas inspector is also at the scene this morning to determine whether a recently hooked up water heater may be to blame for the incident, fire Capt. Timothy McMahon said this morning.

Kuzava had complained that he smelled gas following the installation, according to family members.

No one else was home at the time of the fire.

The Red Cross has published a special winter storm checklist which provides information about the different types of storm, gives tips on how to dress for and prepare homes for storms, as well as information on what to do after a storm hits.

Winter storms can range from a moderate snow over a few hours to a blizzard with blinding, wind-driven snow that lasts for several days. Some winter storms are large enough to affect several states, while others affect only a single community. Many winter storms are accompanied by dangerously low temperatures and sometimes by strong winds, icing, sleet and freezing rain.

If you experience a severe winter storm, or any disaster and have to leave your home, register on the American Red Cross Safe and Well web site available through RedCross.org to let your family and friends know about your welfare. If you don’t have Internet access, call 1-866-GET-INFO to register yourself and your family.

During a winter storm, the Red Cross remains committed to its core services of maintaining a safe blood supply, educating the public on preparedness, and providing disaster relief to those in need.
